Industry’s traditional approach to the value chain, whereby product and information flow sequentially from supplier to manufacturer to retailer to consumer – is no longer sufficient. Significant advances in technology, including big data and analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), AI and robotics are shifting the capabilities and value proposition of global value chains. The value chain must be redesigned and retooled and the workforce retrained.
